How this site supports access for everyone, last reviewed in 2026.
Our commitment
This portfolio is designed to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, and reduced-motion settings.
The site targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Pages were checked with an automated accessibility scanner (axe-core) on every page, in both light and dark mode, at mobile and desktop viewport sizes, and issues found during those checks were resolved.
Keyboard navigation
All interactive elements — navigation links, buttons, filters, the theme toggle, image viewers, and contact links — can be reached and operated with the keyboard alone.
A “Skip to main content” link is the first focusable element on every page, letting keyboard users bypass repeated navigation.
Every focusable element has a clearly visible terracotta focus outline, so you can always see where you are on the page.
When the enlarged-image viewer opens, keyboard focus moves into it, stays inside it while it is open, closes with the Escape key, and returns to the image you opened.
Screen readers and semantics
Pages use semantic headings, landmarks, and list markup so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
Icon-only and decorative elements are labelled or hidden from assistive technology as appropriate. Arrows and other purely decorative glyphs are marked decorative.
External links announce that they open in a new tab, and the work-page filters announce how many case studies are currently shown.
Color and contrast
Text throughout the site meets the WCAG AA contrast minimum against its background, in both the light and dark themes. A dedicated, darker accent tone is used wherever terracotta appears at small text sizes.
Color is never the only way information is conveyed — active filters, links, and states are also indicated with text, underlines, or icons.
Motion
The site respects the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system. When it is enabled, scroll animations, hover transitions, and smooth scrolling are switched off, and content appears without movement.
Responsive design and zoom
The layout reflows from mobile to desktop, touch targets meet the recommended minimum size, and full-height sections account for mobile browser bars. Content remains usable at 200% zoom.
Known limitations
Some supporting paragraphs use intentionally lighter text for visual hierarchy. They meet AA for large text but may fall below the threshold for small text; the same information is available in surrounding high-contrast content.
The downloadable CV is a PDF whose internal accessibility depends on the original document. If you need it in another format, please get in touch.
The link to LinkedIn leaves this site, so its accessibility is governed by LinkedIn rather than this portfolio.
