Wix

Taking a product from 0 to 1

Launched a complex multi-platform product from scratch as the sole Content Designer, establishing content design practices and driving product architecture from launch through two years of development.

Context

Wix had no product that let users build their own branded, white-label app that could be published in the App Store and Google Play. The company decided to build one from scratch for users with all levels of technical knowledge. I was the sole Content Designer from launch through two years of development. Content design was not an established practice on this team; I demonstrated ROI by proactively showing how content decisions directly shaped product architecture and user success.

Approach

I joined two months before launch. I created a content framework that broke multi-platform setup into progressive steps, showing only what was relevant at each stage. I simplified technical jargon into approachable language.

The build moved fast. "Final" designs shifted because content revealed gaps. I had to be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and adapting when the product direction evolved. I collaborated cross-functionally (developers, PMs, Localization, Marketing, etc.).

Impact

  • Shipped a complex, multi-platform product on a tight timeline with clear, accessible content, setting the foundation for Wix's mobile app building platform.
